ElishaCoy Premium Gold Mineral BB SPF 45, PA+++ Review

I am back with another ElishaCoy's BB cream, it is the ElishaCoy Premium Gold Mineral BB Cream!! Not going to delve too much into ElishaCoy's brand introduction or history this time, those who are interested can check out my other reviews on their BB creams (Always Triple / Always Nuddy 24).

The Premium Gold Mineral BB cream stands on the luxurious end of their BB cream range, with caviar, royal jelly extract, camellia japonica flower extract and deep sea water in its ingredient list. Other ingredients also includes trehalose (high water retaintion capabilities) and marine collagen to keep skin moisturized and wrinkles at bay. On top of that, it also contains gold ingredients!!

This BB cream is meant for whitening and anti-aging. It spreads and blend well, with a slight floral scent. FYI, Always Triple smells kinda like incense and Always Nuddy 24 smells like paint to me....-.-" So yea, Premium Gold BB cream is the better smelling one of the lot.

The Premium Gold Mineral BB cream is like an upgraded version of Always Triple, with a higher SPF of 45 (compared to Always Triple's SPF of 30) and better packaging. It comes with a pump dispenser unlike the others which sports the tube-design. The problem with the tube-design is that i always have a mess at the outlet. Really annoying sometimes, especially when the excess BB cream gets dried up in the grooves of the cap...erk!!.....

under room light

The coverage and staying power is probably better or on par with Always Triple (~ 6-7 hours depending on the environment). Unlike Always Triple and Always Nuddy 24 which has pink undertones, the Premium Gold Mineral BB cream has yellow undertones.  The downside is that like Always Triple, the Premium Gold Mineral BB cream tend to feel a little heavy on the skin and the oil control is fair ( i need to blot every 4-5 hours).

All in all, i do not see the whitening or anti-wrinkle effects, but the strong coverage and staying power is convincing enough for repurchasing. Would recommend Premium Gold Mineral BB cream for fair-skinned individuals as the shade offered are quite light. Price-wise, you can get Premium Gold Mineral BB at John Little or on Qoo10 at SGD 28.50 for full volume and at SGD 13.50 for the 15ml trial tube.

ElishaCoy Always Nuddy 24 BB cream Review

After i did a review on ElishaCoy Always Triple BB cream last year, decided to do a review on ElishaCoy Always Nuddy 24 BB cream this time round..as promised =)... When i first lay eyes on this BB cream. what caught my attention was the pastel pink and gold printing!! Such girly appeal~

Like all other ElishaCoy products, their ingredient list only includes organic and high quality herb extract.
The Always Nuddy 24 BB cream contains portulas oleracea, allantonin & chamomile to soothe troubled skin. Other than caring for troubled skin, it also provides pore care and sebum balancing... Trouble skin + pore care + sebum balancing? So i guess the main consumer group of  Always Nuddy BB 24 BB cream are teenagers..?

The Always Nuddy BB 24 BB cream is kind of like a tinted moisturizer? Unlike its much more multi-functional counterpart (Always Triple BB cream). As indicated by its name 'Nuddy', this BB cream is meant for the light make-up look. I needed at least 2 layers along with concealer for some coverage, if coverage is what your are looking for, then this BB cream is definitely not it. Despite its sheer coverage, even with 2 layers on....the Always Nuddy 24 BB cream is really light-weighted on the skin and it has a pretty smooth skin finish!! The staying power of this BB cream is not as strong compared to Always Triple BB cream, but i could go without touch-up for 3 or 4 hours max. From my past experience from Always Triple BB cream, i was expecting below average oil control but i was pleasantly surprised this time. Like the Always Triple BB cream, the Always Nuddy 24 BB cream does gives off a pinkish tinge. The texture is fluid and easily bendable.

The scent was a little unpleasant  like.....paint or something? Well, the smell does fade quickly, no biggie...just don't pay too much attention to it =) Other than the scent, do note that the Always Nuddy 24 BB cream do not have SPF!! You will need additional sunblock if you are going under or avoiding the sun.

The lack of SPF was kind of a downer but I do appreciate how light this BB cream is on my skin and the decent oil control, but i'll probably use it when i go to the nearby mall or too lazy/ late to do my make-up. I would recommend the Always Nuddy 24 BB cream to students or oily-skinned individuals. You can also try this BB cream if you are looking for something similar to tinted moisturizer......or something to apply on during your 'no make-up' days without looking too horrific...if you know what i mean...haha...

Price-wise, ElishaCoy's BB creams do not come cheap at retail stores like BHG or Isetean, Always Nuddy 24 BB cream probably retail around 30+ SGD? On a budget? Fret not!!  You can get full volume (50ml) of Always Nuddy 24 BB cream at Qoo10 at only 19SGD++!!

Thanks for reading and hope this post helps!!

ElishaCoy Always Triple BB Cream Swatch & Review

Had the ElishaCoy Always Triple BB Cream for a year, but only started using it recently for around 3 months and going to do a review on it today. Lets start with the brand introduction, ElishaCoy is actually a korean brand, i know it sounds more like a States brand. So what's with their brand name?
Elisha : my god is salvation (Hebrew)
C.O.Y (acronym) = Creation of Youth

ElishaCoy is famous for being organic and only using high quality herbs or plant extract in their ingredient list, claiming to maximizing the skin's self-survival ability (i have no idea what that means) via phyto therapy (plant's pharmacological action). The brand emphasizes a lot on achieving a overall sense of balance between  physical, mental and psychological states, not only through phyto therapy but aroma therapy as well, using essential oil obtained from herbs or fruits. They also claim to use both western herb extracts and various oriental traditional resources to not only provide relief to the skin but also to treat the skin for wrinkles, dull tone and enlarged pores.

Cleo Winner!! yea i know...year 2010...

Ok, back to the Always Triple BB Cream, it contains natural ingredients such as royal jelly and caviar to protect and improve the skin. Other than the a fore mentioned ingredients, it also contains skin-soothing plant extracts (Portulaca oleracea L. and Morus alba Linne) for sensitive skin! With a SPF30, PA++, it protects against UVA and UVB rays with broad-spectrum filters.

What i like most about this BB cream is its coverage, i could go without concealer with this BB cream, or maybe a little under my eye for that zero-dark-eye-circles look. The texture is quite fluid, making blending a breeze. Despite all the aroma therapy talk in their brand introduction, this BB cream's scent is actually not strong at all, almost not existent until i wrote this review and had to read up more on the brand., it smells like floral incense with a little sunblock-ish tint? The oil control is probably the only downside of this BB cream, i have to blot every 4-5 hours but the staying power is really strong, i can go without touch-ups for 6 hours straight. So all i need is just my oil blotter whenever i'm going out with my Always Triple BB Cream on me, kinda save space and weight on my bag ^^. The swatch looks pretty dark, but the shade will tone down after further blending, but like the BRTC Whitening & Wrinkle Repair BB Cream, this BB cream does gives off a pinkish tinge as well, nothing that a little loose powder cannot do about ^^. Probably use this BB cream when i have something on like a anniversary date or night out, because i probably don't bring my touch-up tools on a casual outing.

I would recommend the ElishaCoy Always Triple BB Cream if you're looking for coverage and staying power. Price-wise, this brand does not come cheap, a full 50ml can cost around SGD55+ on Qoo10 now. If your're on a budget, would suggest getting a 15ml tube for around SGD10.50 on Qoo10 here

Would be doing reviews on my other ElishaCoy BB creams (Always Nuddy & Premium Gold Mineral) soon, after i have used them much ^^. So stay tuned i guess...

Hope this post helps and thanks for reading!!

BRTC Whitening & Wrinkle Repair BB Cream Review & Swatch

Been using the BRTC Whitening & Wrinkle Repair BB Cream for the past two months, and decided to do a review on it. This BB cream was highly raved back then and i got this on an impulse, so i'm not going to discuss the price tag feasibility today, but for those who really want to get their hands on this, you should be able to get this at Watsons.

It claims to be a multi-benefit cover cream that promotes whitening and wrinkle repair as well as protecting the all types of skin from external noxious environment. It also balances uneven skin tones for brighter and smoother skin surface. Sounds great doesn't it?

Was actually surprised when i first squeezed the contents out, the shade of the BB cream was.....quite dark....like much darker than what i usually use. I kinda went into a panic mode, worrying whether i can still use this.

A dollop of it

Spreading it a little

The texture of the BB cream is thick, but i did not face much problems in the application and blending. It does have a light scent, not sure whether is it baby powder or floral, can't really tell....lols....

1- clean skin
2- BRTC whitening & wrinkle repair BB cream blended out

Remember that i entered panic mode regarding the BB cream shade? Well, it was uncalled for...it turned out that the shade lightens as i blend it out. After blending, the BB cream cast a pinkish tinge (see above) but no biggie, it was toned down using a loose powder with more yellow undertones. The coverage was pretty decent and a little goes a long way. This BB cream also gave me a dewy finish, which leads me to next problem....oil control....and it was surprisingly good, i went for the Blog Shop Festival flea with all the massive maneuvering around and adrenaline rush....when i went to touch up....there was minimal oil shine after the whole flea battlefield-simulation!!

The price tag is actually....not very affordable....Watsons is selling it for SGD49....so.....*sheepish...if you have the spending power then do try this BB cream, if not L'egere would be a better alternative.

Hope this post helps and thanks for reading!!

L'egere Super Light UV Whitening BB Cream Swatch and Review

This is L'egere Super Light UV Whitening Blemish Balm Cream that i have been using for the past 1 year, and i thought that it deserves a review. I mean it manage to stay in my makeup stash for the past year without collecting much dust and you can see from the dent in the middle,  i've manage to use up quite a lot of it (quite a feat you know ^^). *cries...i could not find the box that came with it, guess i threw it away last spring cleaning.

Anyway, according to L'egere, this bb cream is something that any oily skin individual (me) living in the tropics would wish for. It has a decent SPF of 34, i wouldn't say its high cause there are other BB cream out there with SPF40-50. It claims to have whitening properties as well, but i cant really see the effect though (cause i dont really go out in the sun much and there's not much whitening needed...lol).
Well these are the main ingredients and its respective functions (taken from L'egere):

  • Arbutin                     - reduces skin pigmentation and whitens spots
  • Sodium Hyaluronate  - moisturizing, anti-aging and oil regulation
  • Ceramide                 - moisturizing, skin protection
  • Astaxanthin              - anti-aging, promotes glowy skin
  • Gingko                     - anti- free radical, anti-inflammatory
  • Aloe                         - soothing, non-irritant

What really kept it in my makeup stash for so long was its oil-control properties, as compared to the other bb creams that i'm concurrently using. I didn't see much shine on my face whenever i'm using L'egere Super Light UV Whitening BB Cream, usually just blotting once in the evening would suffice. It contains polymeric powder to reduce oil secretion and to absorb oil. Well, i've yet to try my Dr Jart Sliver Label Rejuvenating BB Cream which is geared towards oily/combination skin, so i can't really say that L'egere Super Light UV Whitening BB Cream with the best oil control properties, but its worth a shot ^^.

Swatch of L'egere Super Light UV Whitening BB Cream

Shade: The shade is really light, with pink undertones, would be suitable for fairer individuals. Pity that this bb cream is not available in more shades.

Consistency: The consistency is little thick, but no problem blending, patting the bb cream in will do the trick.

Coverage: Despite its thick consistency, the coverage of this BB cream is actually quite sheer, concealers is definitely required if you have dark eye circles. This BB cream would  be good if you want a natural nude look, but don't expect flawless finish.

Scent: it has a light floral scent, not too overpowering. Despite the SPF 34, surprisingly there's no sun block-ish smell to it.

Where to get it: If you are uncomfortable with online shopping, the last i saw BHG does sell L'egere Super Light UV Whitening BB Cream, but pretty pricy *wince.... well, i forgot which spree did i bought mine, but if you want a cheaper alternative, buybbcream does sell L'egere Super Light UV Whitening BB Cream.

Hope this post helped you guys out ^^
