Year End Random Beauty Haul

Happy belated Merry Christmas and pre-Happy New year everyone (just in case i did not get to post on the day ^^).

Well, Christmas shopping seemed to have started early for me~!!! There's the Kanebo Seasonal Warehouse Sale, then the Sulwhasoo spree on Qoo10!! Oh, and i got some beauty tools at a great price from BHG as well =).

There was the Kanebo's seasonal sale recently and i could not believe how much they slashed their prices!! Items which retails at SGD22-28 were going at SGD6-9 per piece! Incredible and scary....some *ahem PRC ladies were there as well to get their grubs. Quite horrifying, i can accept that at such warehouse sales, there will be some inevitable nudges and pushing and countless of 'excuse me's....but shoving? -____- that was uncalled for...yea, some random PRC lady just shove me aside when i was having a look at the eyeliners. Worst still, her friend joined her and they begin to ask for the prices even though its stated on papers that are attached to the counters. *roll eyes....seriously?!....*tsk.... Alright, enough of me rambling about inappropriate behaviors at warehouse sales, lets lift the curtains~

Tadaa~

I got all the above at only SGD82.20....yes SGD82.20....that was not a typo error =)...thinking back on discounted their items were, i'm kinda regretting not buying more now....=(...i could use some serum or day cream or eyeshadows or...*wails.....*sigh...it's over...=(....i'll waiting for the next one then...

Next, Sulwhasoo spree on Qoo10. I've been more of a Sulwhasoo supporter than History of Whoo, probably mainly due to my skin type and the place i'm living in. Oily skin and the tropics does not exactly goes well with luxuriously rich products...*wince....Well, there was a time-sale and i got all these for SGD56 (inclu. shipping!!). Will be doing reviews on these products soon~

Samples~!!!

Sulwhasoo Skin Clarify Mask

Ginseng Brightening Mask

Overnight Vitalizing Treatment

There was this one-day-close-door-sale-thing at BHG (Junction 8), and i happen to stumble upon it. There were many stuff on discount, but what caught my eye was.....

can you believe it?! 6 for SGD10!!!

I'll post on my recent purchases, stay tuned for the upcoming reviews =)
And have a great year ahead!!

Musee Platinum Tokyo Permanent Hair Removal

Have not been blogging for quite awhile since i got a job in August, pretty unexpected....thought i would have enough discipline to generate more than two post per month...*sheepish.....i blame Qoo10 and my bed for that....haha....Well, i'm back with Musee Platinum Tokyo!! For those who don't know what Musee Platinum Tokyo is, they are Japan's No.1 premier hair removal salon~! And they have currently 5 branches in Singapore!! For more information, check out their website.

Been pretty bugged about my body hair, but unable to do much about them since my skin get really really itchy (with red bumps…ick) after shaving no matter what I do (use better blade or female shaving gel) and ingrown hair when I tweeze. There’s always the wax option but…lol…I never have enough guts to pull the wax strip....*sigh

I decided to turn to permanent hair removal, where the people at Musee Platinum Tokyo will zap your hair follicles to gradually reduce growth which eventually leads to no growth. Do not expect much result immediately after starting on the treatment, approximately 6-8 sessions of treatment is required to get desired results (number of sessions varies due to different individual body constitution such as hormones/shaving frequency/etc), which 2 months interval between each treatment session. Therefore, be mentally prepared and sure that you can commit to at least 1 year of treatment.

Introducing S.S.C. Hair removal

Was actually indecisive between Regina or Musee Platinum Tokyo, since both are the leading hair removal salon in Singapore, and both have great reviews on online forums (CozyCot, FlowerPod, etc). Well, the deciding factor for me was actually the cost, Regina usually have cheaper packages (check out their promo packages) until Musee Platinum Tokyo came up with the double promotion, which deducts $100 off your chosen package and another 25% discount after that!! Furthermore, Musee is also giving out free Ginger Gel Set if you sign a package with them, while the stock and promotion lasts of course ^^.

Well, that double discount of Musee’s won me over, and a package of 30 sessions with free unlimited underarm is around 2.2k SGD (U.P 3.12k SGD!!!...almost 1k SGD in difference), which is payable in 6 installments (370~SGD/ installment). Speaking of installments, Musee is much more flexible than Regina, the larger your package is, the more leeway they allow for your installments (from 3 installments up to 6.installments!) Whereas Regina is pretty strict on payment I think, for a $1.8k package, only 2 installments is allowed, which is at least 900SGD/ installment…quite heavy on the wallet.

Started my first treatment on my upper, lower leg, upper back and underarm in late August and just finished my second treatment in October. Everything went by in a blur…probably due to the nerves I guess… The people at Musee would ask you to don on their gown, and before treatment commencement, they would shave your requested body part again before apply cold gel generously. ‘goggles’ to protect your eyes from the treatment laser are provided (with layer of cloth underneath to ensure maximum blockage I guess?), but would prefer that they put it on me after they shave me and not before….it was kinda scary to feel shaving blades on you with your eyes ‘blind-folded’…-.-….But everything gets better on my second visit, no more surprises.

Pain-wise, mostly painless I guess….i almost doze off while having my upper back and my leg done, it just felt like a burst of warmth whenever they zap, would rate it 3 or 4 on the scale of 10 for the pain. But the underarm…*horrified….was unexpectedly painful!! T.T….They described it as rubber band snapping, but it felt more like heated needle(if there’s such thing…)…anyway…that…hurts…a fair bit…but nothing that a human being cannot bear? That would be like 6 or 7 on the scale of 10. After which, they will apply cold wet cloth to cool the skin, followed by a layer of medicated gel (I think?). The whole process (upper back, lower leg, upper leg and underarm) took about one and half hour with the help of two beauticians, pretty fast I guess. Most of the time are spent on shaving, gel application and aftercare (cold wet cloth and medicated gel), not really a lot of zapping.

For those who are apprehensive about signing a package with Regina or Musee, you guys can consider their unlimited underarm which is only 388SGD and 138SGD nett respectively, or keep a look out for 98SGD deal for Musee Platinum Tokyo which sometimes pops out of the blue. Do note that girls that are below 18 (I think?) need parental consent before they allow you to partake in their hair removal treatment.

Will probably post pictures of my leg or underarm(?!...not confirmed yet...dun wanna gross anybody out) on a later date to show the before and after effect. But i kinda forgot to take photos of my legs before i start the treatment as well as after first treatment. So i'll start taking pictures from the second treatment on wards. So stay tuned~!

Feel free to ask me any questions ^^
Hope this post helps and thanks for reading!

Daiso/Qoo10 buys~

pretty pink stuff~

peel masks and skincare samples

Decided to share some really great bargains i bought recently from Daiso and Qoo10. The total cost of both pictures is only SGD53.9!!

Went to the Daiso at Orchard and saw that they had these glittering push pins!! 16 pieces of gorgeous bling for only SGD2 per box!! Daiso also had these glittering push pins in yellow/gold and blue/light blue as well, so do drop by the Daiso branch at Orchard if like these push pins, because the one at Doby Ghuat and Harbour Front does have it yet!! Speaking of Daiso, i think there's one opening soon at TampinesOne, so keep your eyes peeled...^^

closer pic of the push pins

I got the gold rings for only SGD0.9 each during a Qoo10 sale, and it was free shipping!! Was so glad that i go them....more pictures of the rings coming up....

Owl head

close up view of the owl ring on my finger

simple gold 'pretzel' band...lols

really looks like pretzels doesn't it ^^

I got this soft baby pink phone cover also on a sale on Qoo10 for SGD2.90, and the bling ribbon ear dust cap for SGD3 at the Blogshop Festival which is so much cheaper than Qoo10!! Pity that i didnt get the name card of the blogshop stall i got it from.

lols....caught the reflection of my pink room curtains

Gorgeous bling ribbon ear dust cap from the Blogshop Festival

I wanted to 'bling' my phone cover with rhinestones initially, but later realised that the cost involved is not a small sum even if i do it myself (the decoden supplies, glue as well as the transparent plastic phone cover). So i added some cute stickers instead to my phone cover to make it uniquely mine, you guys should try it too if your're on a budget.

Isn't it cute~?

I also bought the Shiseido Naturgo Peel Mask and the White Peel Mask at SGD0.7 each. Pretty reasonable actually, given that i saw a neighborhood beauty shop sold them at SGD1 each. Also bought samples sachets of White & Moisture Essence and Cream from the History of Whoo. Will be doing reviews on these products later.

Sorry about the long post. That's all for today, hope you guys have a nice day~!!

Nikon Coolpix P310 & il Gelato di Bruno

Got my new digital camera... Its the Nikon Coolpix P310 (in white)!!

Went to the PC Show over the weekend, and decided to get it since PC Show and IT Fair are places to get good electronic gadgets buys. Got the Nikon Coolpix P310 for SGD500++ including freebies.

Key features of the Nikon Coolpix P310 has f/1.8 bright lens with 24mm wide-angle lens, image stabilization, manual/custom/auto settings as well as 19 optimized enhanced scene modes! It also has full 1080p HD movie recording and 16.1 megapixels with backside illumination CMOS image sensor. The only downside is that the optical zoom is only 4.2x, so unlikely to take long shots with this digital camera.

On the way back to the MRT station via City Link Mall with my purchase and i saw this......!!...*eyes bulge

*whizzed in

So many yummilicious flavors to make your selection from!!

For those who don't know which flavor to choose or how they taste like.....the crew at il Gelato di Bruno allows sampling!! So sweet of them, really! Sometimes i don't buy because i don't know how the gelato will tastes, had a bad experience with a certain dairy flavor once somewhere and i learnt a lesson...Don't buy unless you sampled it beforehand...
The cup size is actually really small (not that the spoon are huge)...but the flavors available are really delicious. I'm not sure when this promotion will last till, do your math, whether your willingly to pay SGD2.25 for this small cup or not.

Ordered Dolce Latte (taste like kinder bueno and coffee)

Going to 'Bling' my Coolpix P310, but have not found any suitable skin or crystals yet. If you guys know any good deals on the crystals or service for camera blinging, please let me know at harumuu@live.com or leave me a comment. Thanks for reading!!

Happy June Holidays students!!

Suki-Ya @ Marina Square

Met with my mum for lunch at Marina Square, was contemplating which restaurant to go, and we went to Suki-Ya!!! It's a japanese Shabu-Shabu restuarant, and they serve all-you-can-eat-sukiyaki and shabu-shabu!!! For those who are not interested in shabu-shabu, they do serve ala carte or set meals if i'm not wrong. Sukiyaki is like japanese hotpot, whereas shabu-shabu is the 'swish swish' technique used when cooking your thinly sliced meat in boiling soup broth.

They have instructions and advice on having sukiyaki on every table

You get to choose two soup stock from the three available ones (sukiyaki, kimuchi and....chicken broth?)

We choose sukiyaki (on the left...taste like soy sauce and miso mix) and kimuchi (on the the right...a slightly spicy miso-based soup). Apparently, they charges for drink, SGD1.50 for free-flow water i think -.-.....well since i have soup, nobody is complaining about the lack of beverages.

The bar where all the other sukiyaki ingredients are up for grabs

They serves some unique hotpot food, pity i didnt take pictures of them..*sobs.....i'm sorry...They also serve lettuce, leek, firm tofu(not the silken ones), pumpkin slices, assorted mushrooms, meatballs(not the kind you see in supermarket, they are really yummy) and CHEESE TOFU!!! I nearly went ballistic when i saw cheese tofu on the bar, really love them.

Main highlights of sukiyaki is the sauce you dip the meat into and of course, the MEAT!! (beef, pork & chicken)

I choose Miso Tare (cause it's recommended to go with kimuchi)
with chopped radish, garlic, spring onion and a sprinkle of chilli

*gobbles down the beef

Yummilicious~

The price for adult lunch buffet is SGD15.90++, i guess it's pretty reasonable since you have free-flow meat, soup and veg. Really recommend Suki-Ya for huge group of friends or family gatherings, great place for a good chat and yummy food ^^.

Graduation and Celebrations!!

I graduated!!!... From Temasek Polytechnic!!... yesterday!! Time really flies, just 3 years ago i was still figuring out where is the block that i was supposed to go to....*sigh....now i'm joining the workforce already (still unsure of whether to pursue a degree or what degree)...Oh well, just to share with u guys how my graduation went ^^.

Cover of the booklet given out, looks really sweet with the dandelion theme

The Stage where i received my certificate and posed with the director...so nerve wrecking!

I reached school around 5pm to register, and gosh the weather is killing everyone -.-.....Imagine formal attire + heels with graduation robes and horridly humid weather....even my make-up was melting off my face, super unglam.

The graduation ceremony started around 6pm, ended 7:30pm (really fast right!), took pictures with everyone until 9pm? Our stomach started growling, and it was late, so we hit Shuffle at Clarke Quay!!

So upset at myself for not snapping a pic of the entrance and place

Shuffle is a bar, essentially speaking, but they have a live band! and the food there is really good. well, there was a in-house promotion i think....Any 2 cocktails for SGD20!! How good can my graduation gets??
The people at Shuffle were really nice and friendly, dropped my fork while trying to take pictures, and they are like ninja, appearing behind me with a new one. And, my friend's phone kinda died halfway, the waiter were kind enough to let him charge his phone while we ate.

We order 4 pizzas, but i'll post the ones that i recommend, that is....

 Satay Pizza (slightly spicy)
Marinated chicken and beef chunks with savoury peanut sauce - SGD18
(Never knew that peanut sauce would go so well on a pizza!! The meat chunks are heavenly!!)

Smoked Duck
Duck slices, cucumbers with a black pepper base - SGD18
(Combination of smoked duck and cucumber was really refreshing. That duck will melt in your mouth!!)

Well, i admit that SGD18 is a lil bit pricy for a 10" thin crust pizza, but if you share it's not that bad, you can try more flavors. It took 4 pizzas to feed 8 people, so i guess each pizza can feed two, so SGD9 for really savory pizza? Why not, student meal at Pizza Hut is around SGD7.9, i would not mind paying SGD1.1 more for more unique flavors.

AND...the highlights of the post....COCKTAILS!!!

Shufflin'
Barcadi, White Rum, Fresh cranberry juice, Lychee fruit & Fresh strawberry
SIGNATURE COCKTAIL
(My Fav!)

Two Heavens
Vodka, Gin, Blue Curacao, Lychee fruits, Fresh strawberries & Gomme syrup
SIGNATURE COCKTAIL
(so pretty!)

China Blue
Lychee, Blue Curacao & Grapefruit juice

Had a great time, wanna go Shuffle again, their Smoked Duck Pizza is really yummy and i want to try other cocktails like Meterorite, Jaggermeister and From 7's With Love...  Wait for me!!!!
